Default FLP install...and..umm well a problem.

Installed my FLPs today and everythying went off with out a hitch. Perfect actually, probably took about 6-7 hours of work...but heres the kicker.

I was ready to put the Y pipe up to my Borla and...my borla I pipe is too long!. I gotta go get a sawsall and ripp off about 4 inchs.

Anyone have something similar with their install?

When I installed my Hooker LT's and Hooker ORP, the I-Pipe needed to be cut back a little.

I bought my car with the FLP LT's and Borla installed already. The guy I bought it off of had it installed at a muffler shop. They did an excellent job on the install and even riveted rubber tubing between the crossmember and placed tubing between the ypipe and floor boards in some areas. I have had no vibrations or rubbing of the exhaust. If I had to install this myself, I would do the same and have a muffler shop do it or at least get access to a lift to save some headaches. I have little patience for stuff like that.

Most everyone has had to trim the I pipe a bit. Sounds like a smooth install. Congrats, I love my FLP's

Better too long than too short! At least you can hack pipe off easily!

I just bought a set of used FLP LT's from a guy on my race team who put on a turbo. He had them on his Trans Am for 3 years and put about 28,000 miles on them and they look new still. I really thought since they were not stainless the finish would look bad by now. But the ceramic coating looks great and very very little surface rust. I just used some polish, removed the rust and cleaned it up and sprayed it with some 1500+ manifold paint. I could of just put them on without touching them up. They looked that good. Going to put them in soon!
