Default Bad cat already?

Last year I put headers and catted y pipe on my car. It is only a weekend driver so I only put about 1500 miles on the car before I stored it for the winter. The second time I drove the car this year it set off the ses light. I had it scanned and it showed P0420 which i guess is either the o2 sensor or the cat. I am going to swap the o2's and have it scanned again, to see for sure what the problem is but is it possible the cat is bad already with less than 2000 miles on it?

I'm guessing it's an aftermarket cat you used with the new Y-pipe? Some of them are garbage. Do you know what brand it was?

I bought the kooks headers and their catted y pipe. I don't know off hand what brand the cats are though...

I did some searching and it looks like everyone who gets this and the cat is bad usually has stock manifolds and cats. And those with headers and a catted y pipe, it is just tripping the system because of the cats being relocated and not heating up correctly? Can anyone confirm this?
