Default Finally did it, true duals, pics too!

Well, I just couldn't handle it anymore, got tired of the rasp from my catback, sooooo....

Had a local friend/shop fab up my true duals, using Borla XR1 mufflers, this is a FULL 3" dual setup, and it's tucked up SOOOOOOOOO nice, I have better clearance than with my y-pipe setup. It doesn't bang AT ALL, NO rasp WHATSOEVER!!!!!!!!!! I LOVE IT!! It sounds OOOOHHHH So good, I mean deep and mean!!! I will get a vid of it soon!

I got on it and man it feels GREAT, pulls hard all the way to redline, man, I really can't say enough about the quality job he did and the clearance I have. I told him what I wanted done, where I wanted the mufflers to be, he did exactly what I wanted and then some!!!!!!

I will be testing it out at our Friday night drags tonight to see what she can do. 11's or bust!!!

How is it in terms of interior volume in comparison to your old catback, and are those the XR1s or the Sportsman XR1s?

240M3SRT - Thanks! 3" X pipe with Pacesetter long tubes.

Lithium - Thanks!!!

tschmidt098 - Thanks, the mufflers were $150 from a friend, and the piping was $300.

777 - I put down 405rwhp before the true dual setup and having a MAF issue. I have the G5X4, long tubes, 12 bolt with 4.11's, etc, etc, etc. Last summer I ran a 12.3 with HORRID weather, just nasty. That was with the X3 on a junk tune. So I think I can run a high 11 now with a 1.6x or better 60ft.

Gallitin - Thanks, yeah I think it's good clearance too

Josh - Interior noise is louder for sure, you can feel the punch of the exhaust note now. Not sure on the XR1 thing, it's the 3" in and out version of the XR1, the best flowing one they have.

Looks GREAT man! No ground clearance issues at all. The more I look at it the more I think I should go true duals too. Nice job!

Thumbs up

from the angle of the turn downs it looks like it could help keep your rear tires dry and from hydroplaning when its wet out also!

Thanks for the compliments guys!!!

The labor was $300 total with piping, the mufflers were another $150 from a friend that had them used. You can get bullets if you want, they won't sound nearly as nice, but are cheap.

I went to the track and ended up running a new best, but not what I was hoping for. I know there's more in it, and 11's are just a cooler night away

R/T = -.018 oops
60' = 1.718
330 = 5.063
1/8 = 7.812
MPH = 90.34
1000 = 10.149
1/4 = 12.124
MPH = 115.17

That looks nice. How much interior resonance do you get?

We both use practicly the same muffler, but with his being 3" it is of course going to have more interior resonance, but nothing like a dual system using bullets. With my 2.5" with xr1's there isnt any resonance

Looks good by the way scott and nice times, but u need to quit launching like a girl(1.7 on et's)

Titanium - My mods are this....

Race weight roughly 3800+lbs
'99 SS, M6, 94k miles, FULL interior/suspension, custom stereo, baby seats and all
LG G5X4 cam
Stock heads (853 castings)
Moser 12 bolt with 4.11's
McLeod Street twin
Pacesetter long tubes
3" true duals with Borla XR1's
whisper lid
stock maf
home ported TB
LS6 intake
ASP crank pulley
B&M Ripper
Eibach pro-kit with Bilstein shocks
Kenny Brown DD Subframes
stock front sway bar and 21mm rear bar, Global West adj panhard rod
18" Privat Profils wheels

And yes it's an excellent price!!!

Redneck - It definitley has interior resonance, but it's cool, I love the feel and sound of the setup now, it's just mean as hell, I will get some clips real soon!!

Tyler - Yeah I know, that 1.7 was on a 5000rpm launch, I would have gone again and launched from 6000+rpm but was done, too much waiting. Next time, and now you have something to shoot for, at least we know that freeway run was a hoax haha

99Formula - Yeah these can be tucked up nice, you need to hammer up the rear seat part where the mufflers are going to be at, there's plenty of room under the rear seats anyways, so it doesn't mess with them after you do it.

Thanks again all!!
