Default Y-pipe question...

I am only getting a catback this summer and want to know what kind of Y-pipe to get. I have to leave my cats on...what are my options and what do they cost? What's the best? What sucks?

IMO a y-pipe isn't worth it unless you are doing headers also. Then if you do headers, you will need a y-pipe that fits those headers. Your catback and stock exhaust manifolds are more of a restriction at this point. Even though the stock y-pipe is a pancake, it still flows good enough for your stock exhaust manifolds. I wouldn't have even put the slp y-pipe on, but I got it used for cheap.

unless you are doing headers, there is zero need for an aftermarket y pipe.

Well i agree that its not the best bang for the buck mod at full retail but if you can find a used one its not a bad mod. I picked a up borla for $100 on ebay. It definetly gave the exhaust more grunt hp im sure is up but very little maybe 2 or 3 nothing huge but for $100 its not bad.

It doesn't say in your sig what year car you have, but if it's a 98 or 99(?) it can't just be bolted on. you have to have the passenger side welded. Just one more thing to consider.
