Default Pacesetter question for those who spliced their own 02 extensions

Has anyone who spliced their 02 extensions had any problems or regretts?

Ive done this on DSM's and Hondas with no appearant problems but i never really ran any test or anything. If i can save to $25 x2 id really like to.

If the kit the headers come with doesnt include heatshrink wrap to keep out moisture i will buy my own butt connectors. I just wasnt sure if anyone ever encountered any issues such as resistance or anything that might affect the o2 sensor readings/performance.

All advice welcomed. Thanks.

Some people will say it doesnt work, but i have done it a few times with no problems. Just do the job properly, with the proper gauge wire, and water tight insulation.

I did it with my original o2's but when I went through a big puddle or a carwash they would mess up and the car would surge. I replaced them with the 04 vette rear o2's they have longer wires and that works great.

How much are 04 vette rears each? Is it a direct swap?

i wired my own, soldered and just wrapped them with electrical tape, no shrink or anything. I did it real fast to get the car done and said i would clean it up later, its 2 years later and shes still running great No water problems.

I spliced mine and haven't had any problems yet. a good idea would be to get a couple of those metal wire clip things and attach them to your oil pan bolts. it makes running the driver's side way cleaner

I spliced my friends O2's on his mustang and it has been over a year with no problems. I just soldered them and wrapped them with tape heat shrink would have been better though.
