Default FIPK and Air Temp Sensor

Just installed a K&N FIPK on my Firehawk. Install went great with the exception of the Air Temp Sensor that mounts in the back of the filter. The wiring harness barely reaches. It is really taught and I am worried about the sensor popping out or the wiring breaking. Can I splice in some additional wire to give me some slack? I know that some of the sensors in these cars use impedence as an indicator and I don't want to set off a code by adding a splice. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

The thermistor resistance is way higher than any
proper soldered connection would be. Now, a half-
assed twist-n-tape might crust up and cause you
problems later. But if you work clean then there
will be no problem.

If you chase through the wire bundles or pull out
a wire loom pop-anchor or two you might be able to
gather some extra slack, might try that first.

You should be able to get some more slack. Take it out of the wire loom bundle.
