Default Heater Hose OK for TB Bypass?

I picked up some 5/16" ID heater hose to do the throttle body bypass (going straight from the radiator to the block with one run), but the guy at Pep Boys swore than it couldn't take the heat of hot fluid running through it and that it wouldn't hold up.

Just curious if you guys used plain jane heater hose and how long has it been holding up? Thanks for any help.

I did the exact same thing you did 1 hose which is the middle size between the 1 on the block & the1 on the radiator no stupid adapter inbetween the 2 hoses and only cost $2. And yes it is a heater hose just the same as the ones that are there now mine has been on now for 2 months no problemo....

I did the stupid adapter and I have no leaks yet!! I guess I went the cheaper route.

$2? Pep Boys charged me $4/ft. for 5/16" ID heater hose and I got four feet just to be safe, and I also got some clamps for it also. Probably close to $20 when it's all said an done. Could have ordered a regular TB Bypass kit for that much money.

I went to a local parts store and asked for 5/16's heater hose and ended up getting 5/16 Fuel Lines. I called once I got back to the house and they said it should hold the heat just fine. I've run it for a month or so now with no problems. Spent $3.

I used a piece of scrap stainless tubing I had laying about,
already bent at a handy angle, between the two existing
lines, which cost me nothing at all.
