Default Questions before header install

I'm putting in headers on sunday, and have a couple final questions before i do it. First, what is the size of the freeze plug that fills the EGR hole in the intake? 1 3/8?
And what is the torque amount for the header bolts? Also, I have Stage 8 locking bolts to use. Do you have to use the fastner, or on the hard to reach bolts can you just anti-seize to keep them in?I'm thinking on the backside bolts on the passenger side it might be hard to get the retainer clip on the bolt? And for header bolts you use anti-seize instead of loctite, correct? I'll probably come up with a couple more questions by sunday. Thanks for the help.

You need to tighten them with 2 passes, first pass 132 in-lbs, second pass, 18 ft-lbs. The fasteners are the main part of the stage 8's, they keep them from backing out, so put them in. Anti-sieze is also something that most people use on the header bolts. It is hard to get the clip on the last bolt, I didnt put it on my car cause I dont want to have to deal with taking it off when I go to swap headers for emissions.

I'm 99% sure it's a 1 5/8" freeze plug.
I was about to double check but I can't get search to work.

The writeup on ls1camaro.net says it's a 1 3/8 plug, so I just wanted to confirm. We can always just measure the hole tomorrow though.

Sure about that one Nathan?

Search is working now. Quoted from 5/9/05.

Edit: It is a 1 3/8" freeze plug.
Only reason I find that funny is because I'm quoting you.

I emailed you the address earlier. Depending on if the shop owner will be okay with us leaving for lunch, you might be getting steak and baked potata for lunch tomorrow.

For some reason I always think it's 1 5/8's.

Sounds good. I've been living on cold sandwhiches and hamburger helper meals.

They're on. We have the y-pipe on also, but right now the stock I-pipe is jammed into the merge collector. We didn't cut it off to fit the reducer on yet. Also, our y-pipe is angled a bit so it doesn't line up with I-pipe eactly. I'm probably going to take it to a exhaust shop to have them finish the connection and also reroute the piping to pick up some clearance and fab. up some hangars. A question for those with the QTEC ORY though. For the passenger side cutout valve, which direction did you mount the valve motor. On mine, if I mount it with the motor towards the left side of the car it won't seat correctly because the motor hits the piping, there needs to be like 1/2 more spacing ot get it to fit. If I sit it the other way though, the motor towards the outside of the car, then the valve is sitting right next to my subframes and the side of the car, I don't have clearance at all on that side. Which direction are you supposed to mount it on?
