Default why isnt my car staying on?

i have a 99 ws6 and the car wont stay on. i start it up and 2 seconds later it dies. before this issue occured the car was bogging down while driving and idleing until it eventually died and i had to get towed home. its not the fuel pump as i have stable pressure. i suspect it may possibly be a possible anti theft device? at this point im so confused i have no idea what to think. please help!

bad gas maybe? i had this happen once when i got some crappy gas...i had to keep reving the engine to keep it going, once i got rid of some of it, i added some new gas from shell and it was fine....just a thought

its not anti-theft, your car wouldn't start at all.

a bad O2 sensor could really cause the car not to stay on? correct me if im wrong but i thought most cars could even run if the O2 sensor is dead.

Thats what I would think as well. Is it cutting off, or is it bogging down and dying? If you suspect electrical problems check the igntion switch.

it wasnt the o2 sensor itself, but the electrical connector on the o2 that was plugged into the o2 extension. It would spit and sputter and it cut out on me twice driving down the road.

people often neglect the littlest things...id check your plugs and/or gaps, may just not be running right b/c of them...if it does start and run as long as your foot is on the gas than that rules out the ignition switch/security feature cause it wouldnt even start if this was the problem.. check into your ignition items...plugs/wires/coils. check your connections for your sensors, just b.c there arent any codes in the system doesnt mean one of them isnt acting up.. crank position/cam position..etc. goodluck, let us know when you finally figure it out.

look for a vacuum leak too, that can cause the engine to run rough, and even cause it to stall out.

I was gonna ask if you've modded the car and if you've touched the MAF

But it looks like you found your answer
