the y-pipe and i-pipe od are exactly the same.. is there any kinda of 3in-3in exahaust coupler tht can be had?

An exhaust shop can easily expand your I-pipe to fit over the outlet of the Y-pipe...it would literally take seconds and shouldn't cost you much at all...

Autozone rents a exhaust tubing expander, but its kind of a PITA to use. You can find a 3"X3" coupler that will fit over both ends, most exhaust shops carry/make one for you.
