Default FlowPac Opinion

I have the option to buy a flowpack setup + slp MAF for around $400 (everything new) Does this sound like a decent deal? I need a new maf anyways, Is the flowpac by SLP worth the money?

Looking for a quick response, deal ending soon!
thanks

Don't do it.

Why do you need a new MAF? If you need a new one you are probably better off with a stocker.

You can do better than the flowpac by piecing together most of those components from other companies and save money.

NO

pass on the slp lid, do the fernco/baker hose/anyothercheapbellow, and FTRA, and an OEM MAF.

I'd say, including the MAF, that's a pretty good price. I've got the SLP FloPac, and am pretty happy with it. The Lid is a must have, the bellow is more of an appearance mod, but if I could do it again, I probably would have made the scoop myself and incorporated FRA into it. Hope this helps you out..........

i bought the flow pac way back when too. the lid fits like **** and rubs the hood (a very common problem with the slp) and the MAF is not worth the probelems they can cause and really need tuniing to take full advantage. besides he's not even close to maxing out the stock MAF. the CAI is less efficient then the FTRA as the duct is alot shorter

The SLP CAI raised my inlet air temps when I put it
on my SS. The SLP MAF gave me no change in any
positive, measurable sense (and I sure did look). The
bellows, hose is hose and most are cheaper. What
else is in the kit? Oh, yeah, a lid. Not more than a
dozen or two options, there.

Out of the whole mess, only the lid is worth anything.
And some that cost less are worth more.

The SLP CAI raised your inlet air temps? By how much? While driving down the road?

You have caught my attention, I have the SLP CAI. One of the first things I bought, before I really knew anything.

luckily this was my second f-body....so i didn't make any newbie mistakes with this one so far

skip the flo-pac. get a TSP lid and do the cheapo bellows mod. thats one reason why i like the FIPK, comes with all new smooth bellows that look quite nice.

Just buy the SLP lid for $99 and save the extra money for your next mod.

QUOTE: i wouldn't even buy the slp lid.

Ya, do a search on lids. Not everyone is a fan of the slp lids. Some have trouble with rubbing and fittment. My lid however does not rub, fits together perfect, and is the best looking lid IMHO. Alot of the people with fittment issues have one of the old(non ground)slp lids, don't have the tabs all the way back, or need to trim their bellows. Installed correctly MOST of the slp lids don't seem to rub. This is not to say the jrp didn't have his slp lid installed correctly either. All the lids will give you basically the same hp increase, just buy the one that looks the best. Stay away from the MAF though.
