Plug wire dilema
Hey guys I was having problems with my car backfiring and I see that my #6 plug wire is arching. I am ordering new wires but with the way the wire runs it lays right on my header. Any ideas as to how I can get it off the header or keep it from melting?

What wires did you buy ? I know that Taylor and I think Magnecore make universal wire kits for the LS1 so you could cut the wire as long or short as you need. Mine was laying on an air tube, if I went behind it the wire would touch the header tube. Icontacted MSD unfortunately they don't make a univ. kit for the LS1 but theywere nice enough to send me a wire 3" longer than thier LS1 wires.
One other thing I did was get a high temp spark plug boot from Jegs. It was 6" long which is about how long an LS1 wire is.
