Default Jet Hot Cat Blew Out

Worth replacing the CAT or just the whole Y-Pipe?

$$$ per parts vs. $$$ labor.

i have heard that those CATS may be prone to blowing out. I don't know how much they are so that is why I ask. Someone told me they were $100! But if it blows out again. Its not worth it.

Guess it was too much POWER :p

I don't plan on chopping up the Jet-Hot Y. I'll just sell it as a ORY.

I have the same problem, I think. Just through a P0430 code. Going to pull the so-called cats that Jet Hots supplies and just go the ORY route.

Did you get my reply? I called Jet Hot directly and they said replacements were $75 each. I still have my set if you are interested.

I do. I just bought JH headers and their cat-optional y. I was going to hold off on using the cats until a later date. I could sell one or both to you, or we could trade for other parts etc.

I live in Riverside.

BTW, they are uninstalled and coincidentally just unpackaged last night. I was checking the boards this morning for last minute advice before my headers, ypipe, and catback install. Want to get this done before I do a cam next month.

What did you want for them? I only need one, but for the right price I may take both.

I was hoping you would have something to trade. If not, no big deal, I'll get you a price.

In the immediate future, I will need a cam installed (if you have experience in this and could do it, then I would make up the difference in cash). I will need a tune after the cam installation. Obviously, I would be around to help but I have never installed a cam before (don't have the tools either) and I have autotap, but no tuning program.

If neither of these work, then I'll just sell it to you.

I have the tools to do the install. But never did one.

I do have Tuners for all years of F-Bodies.

But it might be eaiser for you just to sell them to me. I will be in the LA area tomorrow.
