quick ? about o2 extensions
What do the o2 extensions do for the the car when u install headers. I had kooks 1 3/4 L/T's with catted Y pipe installed in 00 T/A and now the check engine light is on. What do i need to do to turn the light off. Ive heard that i may need o2 sensors in the front and rear, but dosent the car already have them or do i need an after market brand to support the back pressure. Plz Help!!!!!!!

02 extensions are because the rear 02's are futher back in the y pipe and the stock wires arent longenuff to reach. To get the check engine light off you need to delete the rear 02's or get 02 simms. Your probly throwing codes because you cats and 02's have been moved back and are not operating at the same temp as stock.

Iam going to have to take it back to the shop to have them delete or get me a pair of o2 simms. Is this a common problem when u have headers installed??

It's not really a problem. All you get is a SES light. If you can deal with that, then you don't have anything to worry about. Why pay $50 just to get rid of that light?

O2 extensions are because the front O2 sensors are further back on the header. if you have a catted Y-pipe,you should be able to use the rear O2 sensors I would think. With no CAT's though, the rear O2's would cause problems with your AF. It is pretty common to use O2 simulators or edit them out with LT headers.
What is the code anyway?
