Default H-pipe install ???

i was told by a BIGTIME mustang person that with an H-pipe you have to be so many inches away form the collector (he said over 12 inches). is this true?

i want to do a true dual setup and i think if i can put the merge pipe close to the collector i can fit my exhaust (spohn tunnel mounted torque arm)

The only way to find the optimal point for the crossover is to get some black LOW temp cheap paint and lightly spray the pipes about a foot back from the headers to where the mufflers will go, not the whole pipe just a straight line, then crank the car and drive a while, and where the paint is gone the most, you will be able to tell, that is the optimum point, sometimes the f- bodys suspension wont allow it but just get it close.
