Default Volant CAI install...vacum hose???

What I believe is a vacum hose(the one that goes into the side baffle on the stock air box does not reach the hole for my Volant CAI. Is it necessary for it to be "plugged" into that opening, and also does it need a breather/filter on it....can I drive the car without it hooked up/no breather without doing damage until I have the situation properly resloved?

Thanks.

The hose goes to your AIR pump, so its not a big deal, but go to autozone and pick up a cheap breather as soon as you can.
