Default mccord electric cutoiut problem

I have recently installed my Mccord electric cutout, which I've had for a while, and it worked for about 1/2 an hour then the motor died...

does anyone know a good way of contacting mccord because I can never reach them on the phone and they don't return messages?

Best bet is to email him. McCord is the worst e-cutout made. I had them and had constant problems.

i've heard bad things about all the electric cutouts, but mccord seemed to have the best track record of the people I talked to...
it's disappointing though when the thing doesn't even work for a whole hour let alone long enough to really test it out

Is there any way you can wire it directly to 12V? Just thinking it might be a fuse or the switch.

I haven't had a single problem with mine and it's been
on the car for over a year. Probably opened & closed
it 50 times. I'd first check the limit switches and see if
the stop-feelers are maybe messed up and keeping the
motor from being powered. It'd be unusual for the motor
itself to fail. McCord told me they do a fairly long burn-in
test before shipping.

I believe early versions of both McCord and QTP cutouts
had some mechanical / materials shortcomings that had
to be learned and redesigned out. So you will see some
folks with a bad opinion of either one.

If you need a new motor, I have a brand new one for $15 that I never got around to installing when mine failed.

I'll keep you updated on whether or not I need that motor...
I have checked all the electrics and things seem fine, and i can see that there is current going through the motor with my multimeter
the butterfly is fine and isn't stuck on anything
there is power getting to the motor correctly...
i haven't been able to test out the motor since i've taken it off, but I can only think that it's the motor, or that there's something wrong with the gear
