Why am i going burning up alternators at High RPM?!
Well I went threw 3 alternators already and every time I hit a high rpm (7000 rpm) they stop charging all together. I bought the remands from autozone and is the stock replacment. Anyone think I am pulling to many amps on top of the spinning at 7000 rpm plus. i was thinking about an underdrive pulley to slow things down a bit but not sure if this would help. Is there a good after market alternator out there that could help and is this a commen thing on our cars? thanks for the help

I had the same problem with my big stall converter I had in the car. I was buying Oreily specials alternators with lifetime guarante. Went through 3 of them also and decided to have them give me back my money and Ill go to the dealership and buy a Oem one. Well it fixed my problems!
