Depends where it came from. Do you know what gaskets were used? NEVER use the paper gaskets that often come with headers, either reuse the stockers or buy new GM gaskets. If it's the header/y-pipe connection some good band clamps can really help you out.

i bought a new set of gm header gaskets so i dont think its that. its coming from around the y pipe/header connection.

if the headers are slip fit to the ypipe, you can put a little bit of copper seal on the header before you slip it into the ypipe. then put the band clap on. this will make it seal better.

The only way to really keep exhaust leaks from happening it to get it all welded up. That way you wont have to keep checking and fixing them.

I got it welded at a great local exhaust shop for $40. Well worth it. No leaks and no SES light.
