I think the most recommend right now is cammin beaSSt (not sure on how exactly his handle is typed). I just bought a ported TB from TSP outright to avoid core charges, downtime, etc, but there are people doing a little more to them. Bo White stopped doing them, but I read he will have a group purchase of about ten pretty soon due to downtime at work, that might be worth a shot. I havn't seem him mentioned lately so I'm not sure what's up, but shaner did good work too.

Where in IN are you located? I'm in West Lafayette, but am from and occassionally in Hobart. (the region)

Like was said above, if you don't mind a little down time then look to some of the board members that are also skilled at porting tbs. This is the cheapest way to go.

Get those new spark plugs for sure. The new plug wires are really no big deal, the stock ones will do fine. For the TB get it ported - basically everything that blkZ28spt said.

Hey I have a Shaner S3 and can tell u it works. I did a before and after and picked up 6.5 peak HP and 8 in the curve. Do a search on his screen name (Shaner) or S2performance.net

I could not have down time so I went with a Katech CNC ported TB and it worked! I did the SLP pulley at the same time and the total gain was 12 RWHP and 14 RWTQ. I figure the gains were split between the two mods.

Better to port the stocker than get a new one, IMO.

Its hard to beat a ported stock TB. There is a little more power in the aftermarket TBs with a LS6 intake but its minimal and for the price difference its not worth it to me unless you are replacing the intake too like a FAST or something simular. All of the top TB porters are about the same, except maybe price

CamminBeaSSt does TB porting. He has mine right now. Just send him a PM. He's on the board fairly often and so far has been great to deal with. I've heard great things about him. If you want I'll let you know my results when I get it back.

I just orderd one from Thunder Racing. I didn't want to deal with any downtime. I guess I'll see how much i like it after it shows.
