LS6 intake gains for my near full bolt on LS1
OK. Looking for the tuning guru's out there with knowledge on the LS6 with different mods.
I purchased an LS6 intake a few months back with bleed pipe and plugs but have yet to install it. I know. I've been dropping the ball on this one.
My questions are.
1: With what mods I already have listed in my sig what kind of gains can I expect from the install? Have I been neglecting myself some fun? This would be using the stock tune still. On 6/4 the car managed a 12.86 at 111.51mph on street tires(not DR's) with a 2.0 60ft. What kind of gains can be expected here?
2: How much difference will a decent tune make in gains after factoring gains above?
The car is still stock weight with no weight reductions other than the difference between the installed aftermarket parts so I'm figuring the cars weighs in the 3650 to 3700lbs range with me in it at a mere 150lbs.
I'd really apprieciate any good insight on this making my tired azz get on the ball and get this thing on.
Also 1 last thing. I know the EGR has to go for the swap and will set the SES.
Will this affect performance until I get it out to get tuned?
Thank You very much in advance
Shawn

On a stock car about 8-10 hp. On a cammed car maybe 15 to as much as 25 I've heard. As far as the EGR goes it'll set off the SES light but won't hurt anything. While you're there pull off the air pump also. Thats some added weight that don't do jack. I just did mine this weekend with a head, TB, LS6 PCV swap.

Only 7-12hp with the intake install and a tune? Seems almost worthless to do. Figured with what mods I have now plus the intake and a decent tune that I'd pick up more.

Get the intake and bigger 28.8lb injectors. The tune with these and your other mods will be worth it. A good tune will help you out the most. My mods are similar to yours and I ended up with 344.x rwhp and 350.x rwtq. That was with a filthy air filter and dynoing on a day with 100% humidity. Also through a Moser 12 bolt.

Everything works together. More mods you do the better off the intake will help you. Im looking forward to a heads and cam which they will really like the intake!
