Default true dual custom build

i will be getting pacesetters soon, and want to go true duals. dont know if 2.5 or 3in yet, i wont mod this thing that much, so 2.5 is what im leaning towards.
anyways i want to take this

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...category=33633

and 2 of these

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...sPageName=WDVW

and have a local exhaust place on gratiot weld up everything and make it slip onto the headers. i also want to run the pipes all the way out the back under the axle, might need some tricky bends. anyways if i can do it all for including parts and labor for under 450 il be happy. also will need to throw in some o2 sims.

any advice/flames?
thanks

Are you running stock exhaust manifolds??? Trying to figure out where their going to custom from. that will determine if you need sims. as far as the x-pipe the exhaust shop can custom make you one. The one your looking at seems small and looks like it would go in the middle. That would suck huge when it comes time to drop your tranny. I got true duals custom made and they go up over the axles. Make some noises once in awhile but my car is lowered. If you go under the axles and catch a lil air they might hit the pipes down.

oops, by saying i will be getting pacesetters soon i meant pacesetters LTs.

ya im still pondering over or under the axle, i dont really want any noises if i go over, i might just get to the shop and see how well they can make one.

Do you have a hook-up at this exhaust shop? Labor is gonna be crazy. I doubt you can get everything done for under 450 if labor isn't free.

All the tubing and bends is going to cost you close to 200, plus the mufflers will be another 80. Thats 300 right there. Every shop I talked to said they would charge me 500+ to do an over the axle set-up. It takes alot of work.

Don't forget reducers, 02 extensions, hangers; its alot more work than I thought it would be. And those dynomax bullets are going to be LOUD!!!

I put full size borla's on and I love the sound. Anyways good luck with the build man.

Good choice on the x-pipe. If I was fabbing up my own kit I'd go that route. I'd pick a different muffler just to be different. Plenty of high flowing affordable options out there. Everyone with TDs goes bullets and while they do flow very well, I think there are better sounding mufflers out there.

Mine fully custom with ball flanges and chrome tips cost $600.00. Thats minus that nonuserfriendly X-pipe (which your not gonna buy). Everything came from the shop. SHould be a lil more than you were hoping for but not much.

thanks for the replies, no i dont have the hookup. ya i figured bends would start to add up. the bullets are cheap, but i dont want to be very loud, so i might have to get diff muffs which will cost more. might just have them make me a xpipe, imma go to a few shops and see what they want, otherwise that TSD kit looks good.

Well I have that nonuser friendly x-pipe and I would have to say I have had no problems out of it. I have no bangs or any noise for that matter out of my exhaust except that sweet TD sound. I have 4" round body magnaflows for mufflers. It is over the axle on a 2000 formula. I have an exhaust connection and it cost me with all hardware including mufflers, Tru-x, and tips around $700. Click on the link in my sig for pics. I have it welded to the headers BUT I have about 12" to 18" of room behind the tranny mount to do whatever I need to remove the tranny. Worst cause I would have to use a weld cutter and cut the welds on the headers and reweld them.

Some pics of ground clearance. I have Bilstein HD's and Stock springs with 1/2 a coil cut off each spring.

I would say I am lowered roughly 1/2" to 3/4". From the ground to fender lip I measure 27" to 27 1/4". I think stock is anywhere from 27 3/4" to almost 28".

If you change your mind about going all the way out back, I would just get this. http://www.texas-speed.com/duals.asp Yeah, it is a little pricey for what you get, but its already fabbed up, just bolts right up, no modifications required.
