Default Need QUIET muffler

I'm running LT headers, cats, and a HOOKER cat back exhaust on the street.

Frankly, it is too noisy and I need to find a cheap way acheive a less noisy exhuast.

Any suggestions that I could use for under $200???

if you have a hooker aerochamber, it doesnt get much better. a dynomax ultra flow maybe....

put a bullet in the I pipe and see if it gets rid of some noise.
is it the outside noise, or the interior resonance that bothers you?

if you can find a cheap slp dual/dual that would sound really good and pretty quiet.

The external noise is loud... ...the internal noise is loud too... the whole car is loud - just like me!

My neighbors are old folks who hate noise. I don't care but all my mods are stock looking so I am a "sleeper" car... To complete the sleeper concept, I need a stock sounding exhuast....

I don't want to pay SLP $1,000 for a couple of exhaust pipes and a cheesie muffler - it seems like a rip-off... The whole car is worth only $10K so why would I spend that much on a mod?

I was thinking more of welding in a replacement muffler for CHEAP! Any ideas?

STOCK muffler, and a cutout when you are at the track.
with your mods, it still wouldnt hurt to put a bullet muffler in the I pipe, or one on each tailpipe, or both, to help get of the interior noise, and the external rasp.

i think you are asking too much of your car with the LT's and no cats.
try keeping your current catback and adding the bullets. it will help greatly, IMO.
good luck.

I've been looking for the same thing because I don't want my car to be loud either. So far from everyone I've spoken to the only options are SLP dual/dual, Magnaflow, or a stock muffler with a cutout....and adding high flow cats. No one makes a very quiet, high flow catback it doesn't seem.

A big ultraflo or magnaflow muffler might be quieter. I have the biggest 3" ultraflo and its quiet until 2k. Then it gets noisy. If it had cats it would be quieter.

Go with the slp dual dual if you are looking for a quite muffler. You can pick them up for under 200 bucks in the for sale section. Me personally I would keep the hooker.

Why not go wih a stock muffler out of a WS6 or on SS. It's quiet and it flows pretty well. I have a stock muffler from my 98 WS6. It's a single outlet if ur interested.

I have the exact same problem. My car was too loud after headers and high flow cats. I added bullet mufflers to my tailpipes and that helped some. If you went with some sweet thunder or regular 12" bullets in the tail pipes that will help. The bullets I have reduce to 2 1/4" on the inside. I would go with a smaller inside diameter if I was sticking with the bullets. These don't do quite enough.

I am currently waiting for delivery on a dual/dual muffler

Good luck!!
