Default 160 Stat Readings / 4.10 Gears

Two question if anyone can help.......

recently put in a 160 stat, changed the fan settings to kick on earlier however the factory temp gauge still reads roughly 195-200........is this normal? What does eveyone elses read?

I have an 02' M6.....was thinking of installing 4.10's, can anyone tell me how much it will effect my RPM? What would my RPM's be at 80MPH?

Thanks!

Ihave 4.10's in my 98 TA and at eighty as long as you have it in sixth you are a cruising rpm. I can't remember exactly what it is but it isn't too high. Sixth gear also feels like a useful gear with the 4.10's. It doesn't just dog out like my z28 before that didn't have gears. Hope this helps.

The temp gauge reading is normal, mine is the same way - '99 and up aren't accurate.

You can get some RPM/MPH ideas for different gears at www.f-body.org/gears/

Yup...unless you have a '98 don't even look at that gauge.
