I was thinking about going with the borla catback and an ORY as well, but from what I learned its going to be loud and very raspy. A catted y will quite it down and get rid of some rasp. You also get those plates with the system so that will help control the sound level as well. My best advice for you would be to search this forum (lots of good info about this) and listen to as many sound clips as possible (ls1sounds.com). If you can handle the sound go with an ORY.

Borla with an ORY will get you rasp from hell.

Borla w/ORY will sound like ****! I hated the way that mine sounded until I had a Borla XR-1 (#40085) welded onto the I-pipe. It is music to my ears now

Mine does not sound that great until you hit 3000+, then it sounds good. I think it sounds like a pick up truck at low rpms.

Agreed 110%.

I personally think a Borla cat-back sounds pretty good behind stock manifolds & cats...But sounds like crap with LT headers (cats or not). Without the cats, holy heck is that rasp city...Almost sounds like "rice" in the mid rpms this way...

It's your car, but I'd either switch to a different cat-back (Hooker, SLP Dual/Dual, etc.) or run true duals when you do headers without cats...

I have long tubes & ORY and the Borla catback. I run it all through the muffler. It has rasp from 2200-2600 or so, but above and below I think it sounds wicked.

had headers, no cats, and borla on the wife's car. extremely loud inside and out of the car. and a serious drone in the 2000-2400 range that would deafen you.
