Default Steel oil pan?

What does everyone think of using an aftermarket steel oil pan on a LM7? I am thinking of putting it on a 5.3L iron motor. I was looking for a f-body pan for my swap but can`t find anything used, new would be $250 for the pan, gasket, and windage tray, the steel pan and everything is only $110. The only thing I am worried about is structural integrity, I think the pan is considered a structural part of the block, does anyone think it would cause problems to substitute a steel canadian made pan for the cast aluminum factory pan?

I rather have a steel one v.s my 98z oil pan. My when my motor went it also blew out the oil pan huge crank and hole in it so now i gotta hunt one down now. U might be able to find a used one from Billy Grahams auto wrecking mainly deal with camaro and firebird stuff thats where i'm gonna check for a used oil pan.
