Default Pulley on LS1 vs. Pulley on LT1

Long story short:

A couple years ago the timing chain broke on my LT1 w/ 80K miles on the car. It broke 2K miles or so after I put on a $50 underdrive pulley. The shop that went over my car blamed it on the underdrive pulley because it was not balanced???

Now, from what I've understood the LS1's are internally balanced and the LT1s are not.??

Are there any similar risks of putting an underdrive pulley on an LS1 car?

i personally thought LT's were internally balanced and i dont see how the chain breaking could be blamed on an underdrive pulley unless there was something seriously wrong with the pulley.

LS1s are internally balanced.....the balancer is just to dampen harmonics......

on any engine, 99.9999999999% of the time, if the chain brakes it was a bad chain......

Did you mount the Balancer on the end of the Underdrive pulley or did you just replace the Balancer with the Underdrive Pulley?

No the Vette pulley is different from the F-body pulleys the belts are closer to the motor.
