Default FTRA Install Help

So I'm Installing my FTRA and they sent me a rubber piece to block off the ram air from the hood. I put that on along with the FTRA but I have a piece left over that I have no idea where it goes. Its a gray tube (styrafoam) that has a slit down the middle and yellow plastic to keep the adhesive from collecting dust. I can't figure out where it goes for the life of me.

Thank you,
Nate

It's been about 3 years since I installed mine, but had the same thing - I think it's just part of the packaging - nothing to do with the FTRA itself.

Is it rolled up in a circle? If its what im thinking of, its to complety seal the intake. It goes under the big black plastic that the lid is attached to.

If Phillip Reddy from Fasttoys doesn't see this post, shoot him an email/PM - he's "Fast Toys Performance Parts" on the board...I could be wrong, but still think you can just cut it and use it as an "auxiliary block off plate," or just toss it.

The seal in question is supposed to be placed on the back(trailing edge) lip so that it seals under the lower factory air box.
I hop you have better luck than I did..My car didn't like this mod.

Ah ok thanks..
My car Loves it. I don't have overheating issues like I have read during the search but then again I purchased a 160 Degree tstat and HP tuners to lower the fan temps. The car just wants to go now its great.

At the end of the season ( assuming you put it away for winter ) clean out the crap that WILL accumulate between the lower air dam and the radiator. This advice comes from using the system for 4 years. I think the system is great.
