Default Guys with 85mm TSP Lids

I bought an 85mm TSP Lid on ebay and the neck, where the MAF is inserted, has several slits around it. It appears that this is to allow the neck to expand. Is this how the lid is made?

I bought one of those when they first came out, and sent it back, it did not seal well, or fit well. I did the light test and could see light in many places where it should have a tight seal. Alot of them don't seal well. The best ive seen is the oem type slp and the whisper.

I actually bought a "blemished" one from that guy who was selling a ton of them about 4 months ago, and mine seals, works great. I am running the 85mm MAF though, with rubber ends to fit over those slits, so I can understand why that would cause a problem with other mafs.
