Default Oil cooler works wonders.

Did a H/C package a few weeks ago for a 2003 Z06. We ran nearly 11.8:1 compression. A 234/238 cam on a 114LSA, flycut the pistons, AS stage 2.5 heads, SLP headers, etc.
Car laid down 470 and drives very nice.
This week we added a set of LG LT's and ditched the SLP's.
After we finished we were driving the car and noticed 270 degree oil temp's. That is no good so today we installed a Linginfilter oil cooler.
Cost around 600 bucks and was a beauity.
3 Hours later oil is now running 205-210 degrees a difference of just over 60 degrees. Very good mod and well worth the cash.

$600 seems alittle steep for a oil cooler. When you could buy a universal one for $26-$42 in jegs.

Isn't oil supposed to get hot, hence multi viscosity?

Hot - but not too hot. there's an optimum range for all fluids

jz - maybe you should have a thermostat in there somewhere? shouldn't the oil get to 220-230 to burn off condensation at least? I could be wrong
