Question Which catback will sound nice and quiet on the highway with LTs?

I plan on getting LTs with ORY and will definitely get my LM replaced. It sounds fine right now, but I don't want to deal with the drone and rasp once LTs go in.

I was looking at hooker and magnaflow catbacks. Both of them sound very similar and basically the only difference is the stainless steel in MF.

Do they flow about the same? How's the sound of them at idle and at the highway speeds?

I need something somewhat queit sounding at highway speeds and nice and mean at WOT.

Which catback should I go with?

thanks

I've got the "BorlaMouth" and I like it just fine, and I do not like super loud exhaust.

Do you have a sound clip of your exhaust? at WOT and cruising speed?

The thing is that I just wanted to bolt everything on and I'd have to get that thing welded and my LM came without a resonator and when I went to the muffler shop to add one, they had trouble fitting 4" core resonator because my pipe is almost touching drivershaft, so I'm not sure if borla will fit there...

HOOKER! I have had this exhaust with LTs on both of my cars. In 6th gear on the highway it is pretty tame. Easy to hear the radio and talk to a passenger. As soon as you start to mash the gas down it wakes up in a BIG way. I LOVE the sound it omits at WOT.

So, it's nice a queit at 70-80mph in 6th? My LM has a little bit of drone at those speeds with windows closed.

Got any sound clips?

If you install a turbo, it will quiet your car down.

got any sound clips? I don't like the tips on the hooker catback, but I should be able to swap my tips from LM, right?

If you want quite then get the dual dual. Otherwise go with the Magnaflow, I love mine. Its not that loud but it is pretty loud. You can still listen to music no problem or talk to other people in the car. It also flows really well, I remember reading that it is one of the best in terms of flow. You wont be dissapointed, it sounds awesome.

isn't it a bit restrictive?

No, the dual dual is a very good catback, in terms of flow.

I dont have any sound clips but I made my decision on getting the Magnaflow through listening to the clips at www.LS1sounds.com.

Damn dude now you are going to make me feel bad . I would if I could, I am planning on doing it once I get my cutout installed though. So its going to be a couple more weeks I am guessing. Did you see this one yet? http://www.ls1sounds.com/magnaflow.htm Its the 6th one down. Otherwise if you have some time on your hands I will be more than glad to send you a vid in a couple weeks

I've had a magnaflow catback, and can say I like my current SLP D/D better. It's quieter and doesn't have the rasp the magnaflow had. Still noticable at WOT though.

This car doesn't have LTs and I want the sound inside tha cabin at 70-75mph.

I can definitely wait a few weeks. I'm just gathering up all the information I can right now and then will make my decision

Did you feel any power loss?
