Default difference between Hooker cat-back and Hooker muffler (long...)

I installed a Hooker direct fit muffler on my stock TA 2002 m6 and I was wondering if anybody know if I would get a different sound with the whole hooker cat-back.
I have a cut-out installed under the passenger seat but I m not a big fan of the sound I get from it, except at high RPM, but at idle and cruising, there no definition in the sound, no growl... just drone.

I m in need of dual dual exhaust tips too so I ll probably get a full cat back system,
I read lots of exhaust review and I know that GMMG is considered top notch but please give your opinion on something not as loud in term of interior resonance.

thanks

As long as you bought their Aerochambered muffler, you shouldn't get a different sound.

thanks for the reply, so you guys think that there no differnece in sound between the muffler and getting the whole cat-back,
how much would it cost to get ory and LT with cats on a budget? also any drone and bad interior resonance at cruise with such a set up ? ( I dont want a cut-out like drone at all)
thanks again.

It will make a difference. A larger I-pipe will sound a little louder and deeper. I had a magnaflow muffler before I bought the whole catback setup and it made a noticeable difference.

I have NO rasp or drone but i also have a M6. If u live where there are no emmissions testing dont waste money on a catted y. Get a ORY(without cats) & LT's. A good set of pacesetter coated LT's can be had for under $400 shipped.

so it makes a difference, I believed I heard before that it does because of the size of the I pipe, so I guess I m going to get a cat-back system, not worth just fabbing a i pipe because I would have to get also the exhaust tips
now under 350 $ shipped , which one should I get, magnaflow or hooker, any other cat-back you guys recomand for that kind of budget?
thanks

Since you already have the hooker I'd just buy the exhaust pipe from summit. Dynomax sells all the pipe you'll need.

For those of you with the hooker cat back on LTs and Y with cats + cam, how is the drone at 2000~2500 rpm? Can you cruise for say 3 or 4 hours without having your brain melt down?
