Default Anyone have pics of cut out lower air box???

Does anyone have pics of thier lower air box cut out. I have my SS hood on and I am about to install the SLP flow pac on my car and I just wanted to see if anyone had the cut out for the cold air induction. Also if anyone has that set up how do you like it. Ive been reading that some people either hate it or love it... Thanks

Its the aluminum piece that comes with the SLP kit for the cold air. I guess it drops down by the radiator and your suposed to cut the lower air box out I think... I know something is suposed to be cut to place that in but I never really looked yet I am doing it tonight and I just wanted to see if anyone else had done it before I started

Can you post closeup pics of this install? Still trying to see why it's not recommended on WS6 cars and SSs. Also, how low does the intake sit in front of the radiator? I'm thinking about doing a custom setup so any help would be appreciated before I spend money.

You are supposed to cut out a bit of the lower airbox
and some of the radiator divider panel as well. They
give you a single page set of instructions with the cut
measurements. Or should've.

Now, the reason it isn't recommended (I reckon) for
the SS and WS6 is that it will in fact -raise- your air
temps, relative to what the factory hood has you at
now (if you have the sealing rubber on, to make it
draw only through the hood). Especially if you are
spending a lot of time sitting still, and have not set
the radiator fans to run full time at idle.

I just picked up a '01 SS and was wondering the same thing. I have been trying to find pics of the SS breather boxes in order to see if there are any differences between a regular Z's setup and a SS. Mine doesn't look any different from what I have been finding.

About this rubber that seals up the intake to the hood, does it not come on all SS's? I know what a WS6 box looks like, but I am not too familiar with the SS's. Could someone shed some light (preferably with pics) on the subject.
