Why going back to stock?

And why then try and 'mod' a stock component?

What manifolds do you mean - intake/exhaust/both?

An the answer would either be yes or no for A) depending on which manifold. And for B) No there would be no meausrable gain.

People used to do the "hollow log" mod but you
might be happier swapping on '00 manifolds
which flow pretty well and have EGR. Do not
know about what kind of AIR/EGR tube bending
might be involved....

Why are you going back to stock? Do you still need those Firehawk rims? Inquiring minds want to know!

For better performance probably.

My stockers are ported (cast iron). Combined with aftermarket Y w/cats I netted only ~7hp. No bang for your buck here. Aren't 98-99's stainless steel? These wouldn't be portable, would they?

Hinson motorsports(?) ports stock exhaust manifolds and show gains of 10-12 rwhp on the 00-02's. I think they charge $75. I had looked into doing this at one time.

I am kicking the thought of going back to stock b/c I will not pass emissions w/ the ORY. I know I know many solutions I might just get the rear o2's edited out and a tune then see if they pass me (my county they don't always do the visual inspection) plug and play. Other reason is its way to loud. I might just leave what I got but I plan on getting the GMMG and I don't want it lounder then it was before. Need some what quiet but a quality sound. With the Hawks I got em on the car now! They look great, I think I am going to pull them and polish them this winter. I just could not wait to get them on. Made quite the diffrence.

im sure you could pick up some 00?-02 exhaust manifolds really cheap i think 00 was the first year for the updated manifolds

http://www.hinsonsupercars.com/

ported manifolds $175, might be less if you send them a core.

I actually e-mailed Hinson about this about a month ago as I've been toying with the idea as well. Was told that cores are required, but didn't hear any mention of a price break. Also said that their ported '98-'99 manifolds flow similarly to 00+ manifolds. Don't know if it's worth it or not, but that's what I was told.

I talked to them awhile back. They said if you send them yours for porting it's $75. They said the gain on the 98-99's is about 8 rwhp. You might be able to modify the 00's to work, but if you run the 01-02's you won't have egr and won't be smog legal either.
