Default removal of intake

I am in the middle of removing my intake, and I thought I had it out...but there is something holding it in attached to the back of the intake. Can someone tell me what this is, and how to get it off. Visibility is non existant back there. Thanks for the help.

There is a small vacuum hose and Map sensor that you have to unplug from the passenger side. Also dont forget the big vacuum hose from the brake booster that connects to the driver side rear of the manifold.

be very careful pulling it out not to break the oil pressure sending unit which is in the little u shaped hole where the brake booster hose connects to the intake. this is very easy to break.

again, watch out for the oil pressure sending unit. i broke mine even knowing it was back there. you hafta lift the intake all the way up then pull it out. just pull the hose off the brake booster and not the back of the intake. something else you can try is just pulling the sending unit out before you pull the intake. it takes a special tool you can pick up from the zone, advanced, or O'Reilly auto parts (the best place to go if you have one in your area).

good luck!

I'm sensing somebody joining the "broken oil pressure sending unit" club very, very soon.

Good luck bro!
