power steering free mod question?

power steering free mod question? if i remove my power steering pump do i need to leave fluid in the rack and cap it off or get all of the fluid out of it and run it dry? i know they have pinto racks for like $599 but i want this to be a free mod. also what length belt goes on there? i have the asp crank pulley with no a/c (not that that matters). thanks
