what does a resonator in an exhaust tip do?

so there is no difference between a resonator exhaust tip and a non resonator exhaust tip? why advertise it then?

I mean, I've really only seen tips with resonators used on rice rockets, and I don't even know why they'd make a difference there. Look at the tips you posted. They are 5" in diameter, 10" long, and that whole length is not even resonated. Basically, its like having a bullet muffler thats 6-7" long (but with much less fiberglass wrapping) after your muffler and at the end of your exhaust pipe. Add the fact that they are 5" wide, and I can't see how half your exhaust (since it is now after the muffler and split to 2 pipes) will be affected in any way by that coffee can. If you ask me, it's not gonna do a damn thing. I may be wrong though.
