Gutting Cats
Is it possable to gut the cats on an 02 Z by just seperating them from the y pipe? Also what are the odds of the gaskets being good when I take them off? Any suggestions, Help,ECT?

Gutting the cats shows no improvement. What you gain with out the honey comb you lose in velocity with turbulance. Not to mention the horrible sound it makes because its a empty coffee can now.

Heres the deal. I am tring to get it to sound like something before the Fbody gathering this weekend. I have a Flowmaster 3 inch catback Im going to get put on tommowor(I bought it used) My buddy has already cleared the emissions including the rear 02 sensors so I figured now would be the time to do it

ok then, What does it sound like with the cats cut and pipe in place or just left alone with a catback and or cutout. Cause the stock exhaust really makes me sick

see if you can get a custom better y-pipe, i would sell you mine, but i'm chopping it up and fitting it to my headers, its that good. But it moves the cats under the car, and the sound is better, i'm really just using the heat shields and merge from it, but the rest would probably be worthless to you afterwards.
