That's correct. Starting in 01 the F-Bodys received the LS-6 intake.

I've heard of people test driving an 01'-02' f body and swapping them out.

The thought never entered my mind, but now that you mention it, I could see someone doing that.

People do that with head lights as well, I can see that. But a manifold swap would take a while...atleast for me. I am missing something here, how can you get away with that?

True, but I would never let someone take off with my car for half the day.

I guess thats the only way, but its pretty rare to see a rental company with Camaro's (LS1's). I do see a lot of vette rentals places though, that would work... Hell thats a good idea actually. I wish that this crossed my mind before I bought an LS6 manifold.
Alright I am done hijacking the thread

I know how to put an LS6 intake on a earlier model, but not how to put a LS1 intake on a later car. You'd have a hole where the EGR goes into the intake..... I'd think you'd set an SES light somewhere?

I'm sure it can be done, but damn, that's pretty desperate to save a few hundred bucks

you could put an earlier corvette intake on it since it doesnt have the egr, and you wouldnt be able to tell the difference......but man thats low, i would be pissed if i bought a 01-02 camaro and it had a fake ls6 intake lol

swapping intakes takes about 15-20 min if you've done it a few dozen times.

Yes, and in '02, '03, '04. However, the 99 ls1's have bigger cams, so a 99 with an ls6 intake is gonna pull harder.
