Question Filter for SLP Blackwing Lid??

I'm just now ready to replace the air filter in my SLP "Blackwing" Lid.
It looks like a paper filter. I thought it had a Donaldson Filter in it??
I bought a Wix brand and it fits but it is thicker than my orginal filter by about 1/2". Makes it hard to fit the lid cover back on. Anyone out there with the 345 HP Package from SLP that has this "Blackwing" Lid please let me know what filter you replaced your orginal with. Thanks

Replace it with the original Blackwing paper filter. You can get them from SLP.

I did check www.slponline.com and all I found was a K&N filter for $50.00.
Anybody know the SLP part number for the paper filter and how much it costs?
Why can't I find the orginal paper filter replacement on their web site?

I thought SLP quit carrying them?

I bought an Airid for my last Blackwing llid car. My new car only has 500 miles on it so the Donaldson filter is still in good shape...but next spring it will need to be replaced.

The OE Donaldson filter is a sort of purple, paper element.
It is slightly less restrictive than a standard aftermarket
paper filter, but not enough to be worth the price in my
book.

I took mine out and saved it, new, for "collector value"
(heh). Being as I found such a negligible difference in
measured pressure drop.

I have the K&N with it, and it works fine AS LONG as you have the gasket that comes with the filter installed.

Not sure. I purchased a new one back in Late June I believe. Try calling them to see if they still sell the blackwing filters.
