Default Loud Mouth 2 raspy!

I have a problem with my exhaust being too loud n raspy. The setup is the following: pacesetter LT's,tsp y-pipe,no cats, loud mouth 2 exhaust. I know not having cats is the main problem but is there any muffler out there that will help take away the rasp and the loudness. I dont like my car sounding like a truck with glasspacks. Any help would be appreciated.

what you need is a Borla XR1 muffler ( part # 40085) to be exact.

will this make the exhaust any quieter? i have the same exhaust on my new set-up (cam/LTs) and my car is waaaaaay too loud now. I def want it alot quieter, so i want to switch out the resonator w/a muffler, but i want one that will tone it down alot, not just a decibel or two. How much difference is the XR-1 than stock LM?

i don't know how many decibals it is different but i do know that its much quieter at idle and is reasonable at cruising speeds, but that mean sound will still be there at wot. a dynomax bullet won't tone it down as much as an xr1.

Just a follow up question, I have the same rasp prob with a flowmaster 1 chamber. I was suggested a Moroso Spiral flow race muffler and an XR-1. Now I have cats on my Y pipe, how will that affect the sound as oppsoed to no cats with the Borla set up?

well if you put the moroso spiral flow race muffler in its place the entire sound of the car is gonna change. It has the deepest tone of anything I have heard yet on a LS1. I have one coming off the y pipe and dumped at the axle and I swear it doesnt even sound like an LS1 anymore. The high pitch tone has been replaced with some mega bass sound from the exhaust!

wow, i have a friend that has the exact same setup, he thinks its the best sounding exhaust in the world. Thank god you have the same opinion as I do though. I'd reccommend you go with sweet thunders, I have never heard anyone complain about them. They have a nice old school rumble to them, but not like a glasspack.
