Default Porting a F.A.S.T 90mm lsx is it worth it??

Just wondering if it is worth me porting a LSX 90mm intake that's going on a 408 w/AFR225's and 11.5-1 with a 253/257 643-646 cam or should i just leave it alone Also a NW90mm tb as well

It matters whose doing it and if you have money layin' around or are truly looking to make some good power for the money spent. I say it's not worth it 90mm TB and intake will support a shi* load of horsepower.

Why would you want to do something like that? With the FAST 90/90 you will run out of mods before you run out of air TRUST ME.

That is an uneducated statement.

Porting a FAST intake is a necessary mod when running good cylinder heads. Even with small runner heads like AFR 205, the FAST 90mm cannot keep up with the airflow of the heads. Porting is a must. The correct porting is worth an additional 7-10 rwhp on a 346 and even more on a larger motor. My motor is proof. I gained 27 rwhp with a Ported FAST 90 with a 90mm NW TB over an LS6 intake and ported TB...and get this...I was running stock exhaust manifolds, stock cats and a 215 cam. Porting a FAST 90 is money well spent if you have someone porting who knows where to port it. Port it the wrong way and you have a very expensive boat anchor.

Many people "port match" the intake and heads to ensure maximum flow. If you don't know what you are doing, spend the money and have it done right. When it is done right, the results are good.

The fast looks to come with extra material so you port match it to the heads you have, I don't think you want to be messing much further up then 3-4" unless you really know what your doing. It's quite obvious why you would want to port it once you have it apart. This is much more then a 'bolt' on to get your moneys worth from it.

I totally agree, I had mine done recently along with some hand blending of my heads. Lingenfelter Performance Engineering did mine for obvious reasons...I cant wait to get it on the dyno and see what gains were achieved. Before numbers are in my signature. After numbers are pending..but will be posted.

I've heard of a few people doing it, although I've never seen any conclusive results on how it turned out. You may see minimal gains with it, I don't know if they'd be gains big enough to justify the cost of getting it done, although it's definitely less costly than the 90mm FAST.

Very worth it!! My Nick Williams TB is awesome, no trouble tuning with this one nor are there any issues with the throttle blade hanging open. I had my 90mm intake ported by my engine builder...cost me $150. Results are pending.

What did it cost you to have Futral do your porting?
