That little attacment that is above the oil filter can be taken off. it has two 10mm bolts and some oil wil come out. Maybe a 1/4 quart. I had to take that off plus the steering shaft, and notch the k member to get my Hookers in.

talking about both headers? Are you sure u have it jacked up high enough?

Can you see what its getting hung up on? I had to take my drivers side one in and out a few times and I forgot to take the oil diverter off once and it was damn near impossible to get out.

The headers bolted in without notching it. There was only 1/8 clearance though and the motor was going to wack the k member everytime I revved the engine. I marked the spot, took the headers out and clearanced it. Had to put the headers in THREE times before I got all the fitment issues settled.

if you can, call Jet Hot and they can coat them for you. Box them up, ship them to Jet Hot, pay them, and wait for newly coated headers to return. I don't know what their turn-around time is, but its worth a shot.

I don't really think theres a better deal then sending them in to get coated. I read on another thread that guys were trying anything and it wasnt working. I know that when you do send them in, they will clean them up nicely (get rid of rust etc), coat, and ship back. IMO, no reason not to.
