HEADER HELP!!!Hurry i want it done by tonight
im bout to pull my freakin hair out, im talkin the headers off my wrecked Ls1 TA and im gonna swap them onto my new one....i got all the "hard" things done, got all the header bolts back out, got the egr taken off you know the hard thing to reach and fool with is done...well NOW i cant do the simple thing of takein the damn headers off...no matter how i turn it, push it, or pull it the damn things wont come out...i have taken all the plugs out the steering knuckle and everything...what else can i do to get these damn things OUT!!!!

That little attacment that is above the oil filter can be taken off. it has two 10mm bolts and some oil wil come out. Maybe a 1/4 quart. I had to take that off plus the steering shaft, and notch the k member to get my Hookers in.

talking about both headers? Are you sure u have it jacked up high enough?
Can you see what its getting hung up on? I had to take my drivers side one in and out a few times and I forgot to take the oil diverter off once and it was damn near impossible to get out.

well my car was wrecked and i THINK it might have bent my frame or something cause it is freakin IMPOSSIBLE to get out although i called the performance shop and the guy told me he slipped them in like it was nothin....oh well i got the drivers side out now and my dad and i are takin a break befor we take the pass all the way out...he got all but two bolts out of it and still need to take one plug out....we are gonna take 15 then go try some more...
and we have it up on ramps prolly 2-3 feet high so yea it IS high enough

its called a burnout through 3rd gear in an AUTO will shooting a hundred shot of nitrous through a LS1 then suddenly catching traction and the stock tq arms flexing and throughing me to my left side where my TA meets a bank about 15 foot high
yea im a retard and shouldn't have been acting stupid and payed for it dearly...so please be nice about it
anyways both headers are off and goin on my other one tomorrow but i want to recoat them first...anyone know of something i can use to coat them myself?

my hood is goin on my new one...i am supposed to get it painted monday sorry guys...
i bought some coating from advanced auto lastnite and im gonna try that out considering i want to get he headers back on my new car today....

if you can, call Jet Hot and they can coat them for you. Box them up, ship them to Jet Hot, pay them, and wait for newly coated headers to return. I don't know what their turn-around time is, but its worth a shot.

I don't really think theres a better deal then sending them in to get coated. I read on another thread that guys were trying anything and it wasnt working. I know that when you do send them in, they will clean them up nicely (get rid of rust etc), coat, and ship back. IMO, no reason not to.
