Default Intake system and MAF for a Ram Air hood??

My cousin currently got a formula 99 firebird and it came wtih the ws6 hood which is functional, he has a clear lid system, i think granitili makes it, not sure, but ive read that the open open air FIJK by K&N is better for his setup becuase he has the functional hood, is that true? need your help guys, thanx...oh yea, what MAF should he go with, or is the stock one fine?

lid works great, any other combo will only cost money and at best net 1-2hp, but more likely make no odds IMO.

Stick with the stock MAF, unless you are pegging it out. Which you won't be by a LONG LONG LONG way.

If you have a WS6 the best intake would be the BGRA. I have one and like it a lot. Fit well and lowered intake temps.

Too bad you can't get the BGRA anymore.

notice his cousin has a formula with a WS6 hood put on it, so it has the short lower airbox. even if he could get a bgra it wouldnt work anyway, the K&N fipk is probably a good option for him. oh yeah and dont touch that stock maf

If he wanted to get a WS6 lower air box he could. I see them for sale all the time. I sold one not too long ago for $40
