Default is a 2004 LS6 water pump compatible with a 2002 LS1?

Anyone know if a water pump off of a 2004 LS6 is compatible with a 2002 LS1?

I figured it was, so I bought one. Now I just wanted to confirm whether I was SOL after the purchase... DOH!

Not for sure but I think the vettes and the F-body's water pump are different. I guess the best way is to take off your air lid and compair the two side by side and see if their the same for sure.

Default '04 pump on early engine

Hi,
From what I have seen, the thermostat is different but it will bolt on and the hoses are in the same place.
Good luck,
Steve

I warped my heads last spring, and had Norris Motorsports do the repair. They suggested a new water pump, which required the new style thermostat. No problems here.
