Question REAL cold air intake

How would you think this kind of setup would work on our cars.

http://www.cryofuzion.com/products.htm#Interfreezer

It seems intresting, no more humidty killing our cars at the track.
I don't think we could get one to fit our cars. Could be worth a try.

What do you guys think?

Neat setup, question would be if the extra stuff in the intake track would reduce flow enough to negate the gains.

Looks like another rice gimmick to me.

I can see it working on FI, but it would just be an intake restriction in a N/A car.

i wonder if air passing thru that at full throttle would really have enough time inside the device to be effected enough to create gains? I think for the air to be cooled enough it would have to be slowed down more than it should be at wot

MAF doesn't cool air, it measures it.

What I dont still get is how dries the air? If you suddenly dcrease the air temperature to that level what will happen with the H2O (contained in the air after it pass through the filter) inside the chamber? It will possibly be converted to small ice particles wich could stuck inside the chamber. The outer walls in the chamber would be in contact with the heat generated by the motor. Could this create a gradient of humidity inside the chamber creating the possiblity of ice entering your motor wich in turn becomes WATER??? That could be a little problem dont you think??
I almost had a stroke with that one!!

I have tested a similar product from DEI. Difference was that the one tested had a bulb positioned in the middle of the intake diameter between the MAF & the TB. Additionally, had a CO2 cooling chamber for cooling the fuel entering the injectors. Was tested while also using water injection to cool the charge on a superchargerd engine. Adding water was never a problem & was needed in order to cool the charge sufficiently to run advanced timing. Bottom line on the C02 cooler. We averaged a .1 better ET while using the C02 cooler on a 195 HP 172 #-ft 4 cylinder engine. Further, filling the 10# bottle was a pain in the a$$ in comparison to the benefit. Keep in mind that a .1 ET increase could have been created by several other factors. Decided not to use the C02 cooler. Although, there are others whom have kept them. There is no doubt that the non-restrictive bulb type tested does cool the incoming air & is beneficial over all. Further, the bottle is far less expensive to fill then NOS. Basically, it comes down to what it's worth to you.

its an interesting idea. in theory it should help out on an FI car a decent bit. but a proper intercooler should do the same job, if not better. i have seen setups to spray CO2 or N2O on a A2A intercooler to further cool it
