Default Has anyone used Permatex for an exhaust leak?

This is what I'm trying to fix. It's a small leak but I can't sleep at night because of it. It sounds like a hack fix to me using the Permatex. Does the high heat ( appoxie ) permatex work? Those are Pacesetter coated LT's btw.Thanks.

If you're thinking of using it at the junction of the flange and the tube, forget it, it'll be gone quick
If you've just bought them, contact the place you bought them from (or pacesetter) and see if they will warranty them, sounds like a manufacturing defect, if they won't, you can take it to a welder and have the hole(s) filled

Obviously you don't have access to a welder but if you do I would weld it or if you don't have the welding skills have a muffler shop weld it.

either mig or tig will work, whatever you can get hold of (if you're welding it)
The coating if it's ceramic, you're probably want to grind it off, if it's metal you might be able to work with it (easiest to grind it off and weld)

If the weld comes out ugly you can always dremel it smoothe.

IMO, if it's not making noise. Leave it alone.

If you plan to do other mods where you pull the headers in the future, pull them have it welded up. To weld it right, the coating around that area will need to ground off.

I used the high temp permatex on my slip collectors, I had a 3" band clamp too. I slid my H-pipe over the collector, put a FAT bead of orange permatex on it, and put the clamp on.
