Ported intake and 85mm for bolt on car?
I can get a professionaly ported ls6 intake(ported inlet and runners) with a ported 85mm throttle body for a good price. How will this perform on a bolt on car? and it is going to get tuned after this install. Will I loose power in the lower Rpm's with this? Might be doing heads or cam down the road so this would be a good investment, but I don't want it to hurt me untill I do get those things. Thanks

Ls6 intake will give you a few significant ponies. With ported TB, you might gain 15 rwhp max. Depends on how much you're gonna pay for it, I'd do it if it cost $200-300!
Also, double check if 85mm TB will fit the ls6 intake....I know 90mm WILL NOT FIT....
You should not lose any hp down low.....

I didn't read anything, that's why I was asking. I didn't know if the air would lose velocity or anything at lower rpms and cause me to lose power down low. If that was the case I would run a tappered setup (85mm TB, 78 or 80mm MAF, and 75mm lid) that would still let alot more air through but increase the velocity. well, in theory anyway.
I guess that 90/90 setup is working for you though, did you have it tuned and dynoed? what kinda gains did you see? Thanks
