Doing a pulley swap. I need to know how far up the threads go on a stock bolt cause the threads on my bolt don't go all the way up the shaft.

Basiclly I'm trying to use the extra bolt I have instead of buy and waiting on a gm bolt or arp bolt. You can't get much stronger than the bolt I have, so thats why I'd like to use it.

ok I guess I'm not making this very clear. I have not yet removed the pulley. I wont to know if I can use the longer aftermarket bolt I have to install the new pulley with but the threads dont go that far up the bolt only about 2" of threads.

Here maybe this will help.
The stock bolt is 4'' long.
Length from th end of the crank to the start of the threads are close to 2-1/4''
With the dampner installed and bolt installed there is only about 1'' of thread engaugment.
Here you can tell by the picture of how far and how much of the threads are used within the crank snought. (Black area at end of the bolt)
If intrested here is a tool to install the dampner that I have been making and selling.
