Default are cats only too loud?

I was wondering if I were to run cats only with a cross over with true dual exhaust set up if it would be a lot louder that a system w/o converters and flowmaster mufflers. I also wondered if the cat only system would flow better.

Anyone tried this or know any figures on cat flow vs. muffler flow?

thanks!

stock cats or high flow cats? that will be way loud with high flow cats and no muffler after that. stock cats it wouldn't be as bad, but probably SLP LoudMouth version 1 loud.

I've been running shorty headers to stock cats with turn downs dumped under the car for a couple months now. It's too loud in the car for me. It isn't that loud outside the car though.
